One of the biggest worries parents have before a family session is whether their kids will cooperate.

The truth is… kids do not need to sit perfectly still or smile perfectly at the camera for beautiful photos to happen. Some of the most meaningful images come from real moments, movement, laughter, and connection.

A few simple things can help your session feel smoother and more relaxed:

• avoid scheduling during nap time

• bring water and simple snacks

• avoid pressuring kids to “behave perfectly”

• let kids know the session will be fun

• trust the process and stay relaxed yourself

Children feed off the energy around them. When parents stay calm and relaxed, kids usually follow that lead.
