October is here…and you still haven't booked family pictures

Every year it happens.

September flies by. October arrives. You suddenly realize the holidays aren't actually that far away and think:

“Wait. Weren't we supposed to take family pictures?!”

If that's you, don't assume you've completely missed your chance.

Fall photography in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho doesn't end the second October arrives. In fact, some of my favorite family sessions happen right in the middle of the season.

October gives us that gorgeous fall feeling

One of the reasons I love October sessions is the combination of cooler temperatures and beautiful evening light.

Depending on your location and timing, we may have:

• golden leaves• warm desert tones• beautiful grasses• gorgeous New Mexico sunsets• cooler temperatures• rich fall colors

And remember, your photos don't have to include bright orange leaves to feel like fall.

Warm light, earthy colors, cozy outfits, and the New Mexico landscape can give us that fall feeling all on their own.

What if you need photos for holiday cards?

Then don't wait much longer!

If holiday cards are part of your plan, you'll want enough time after your session to receive your gallery, choose your favorites, design your cards, and get them ordered.

Booking sooner gives you a lot more breathing room.

You don't need a full session either

If you've been putting off family photos because a full session feels like too much, a mini session may be exactly what you need.

A short session can give you beautiful updated family portraits without requiring a huge time commitment.

And yes—we can accomplish a LOT in 10 minutes!

Don't wait for the “perfect year”

Maybe someone hasn't found the perfect outfit.

Maybe your child just lost a tooth.

Maybe your teenager has braces.

Maybe you wanted to lose a few pounds first.

Book the photos anyway.

Your family isn't supposed to look perfect. You're supposed to look like yourselves during this exact season of life.

Those are the photos that become priceless later.
