“But I Hate Photos…” How to Win Them Over 😉

A family of five poses in a forest clearing. They are smiling, with tall trees and rocky hills in the background. Bright and cheerful vibe.

Yes, even that person can enjoy it

Every family has one. The person who says they don’t like photos, don’t know how to pose, or would rather be anywhere else.

The good news? They usually end up being the ones who say, “That wasn’t so bad.”

Keep it simple and low pressure

• remind them it won’t take all day

• let them know they don’t have to “perform”

• reassure them they’ll be guided the whole time

When expectations feel easy, resistance goes down.

Focus on what really matters

It’s not about posing perfectly.

• it’s about your kids having photos with them

• it’s about capturing your family as you are right now

• it’s about moments, not perfection

Sometimes shifting the focus makes all the difference.

Let them be themselves

They don’t have to fake smiles or act a certain way.

• natural interaction works best

• relaxed moments create the best photos

• personality always wins over perfection

The secret? They usually end up liking it

Once they realize the session is relaxed, guided, and actually enjoyable, most people change their minds.

And later… they’re often the ones asking when the next session is.
