So what should you wear? Let’s break it down.

1. Plan for 2–3 Outfit Changes

To get the most out of your session, I recommend bringing 2 to 3 outfit options. This gives us a variety of looks to work with and allows you to showcase different sides of your brand.

  • Look 1: A polished, professional outfit for your more formal images (great for LinkedIn, your website bio, or speaking engagements).

  • Look 2: A casual yet pulled-together outfit that feels approachable and relaxed.

  • Look 3 (Optional): A creative or lifestyle look that shows a unique aspect of your personality or profession—think bold colors, fun accessories, or even a branded tee with a blazer!

2. Choose Brand-Aligned Colors

Wear colors that reflect your brand and make you feel confident.

  • Stick to your brand palette if you have one

  • Solid colors work best, avoiding overly busy patterns.

  • Make sure your outfit colors complement your background settings and skin tone.

If you're unsure, feel free to send a few outfit photos my way before your session—I'm happy to help you choose!

3. Mix Casual and Elevated Pieces

Your clients want to see the real you! A mix of casual and professional styles helps show that you’re both approachable and an expert in your field.

For example:

  • Business owners might wear a sleek blazer with jeans, and then swap to a flowy blouse or branded tee.

  • Coaches could rock activewear for a few shots, then transition to something more elevated for site or marketing use.

  • Creatives might go from stylish and artsy to clean and minimal.

4. Bring Props That Represent YOU

Props can tell your story in a powerful, visual way. Think about what you use daily, what your clients associate with you, or even elements from your workspace.

Here are some ideas by profession:

  • Realtors: Laptop, phone, branded folders, coffee cup, “sold” sign, house keys.

  • Healthcare professionals: Stethoscope, clipboard, scrubs, supplements, books.

  • Coaches or consultants: Journal, laptop, branded mug, headset.

  • Artists/creatives: Paintbrushes, camera, sketchbook, samples of work.

  • Makers: Tools, products, packaging materials, behind-the-scenes props.

These little details give your audience a window into what working with you looks like.

5. Most of All—Be You

No matter what you wear or bring, the most important thing is that your session reflects you. Come as you are, ready to have fun, and I’ll guide you every step of the way.

Let’s make sure your visuals do what they’re meant to doelevate your brand, tell your story, and connect with your ideal client.
